The Mad Men rug series from Louis de Poortere continues to be one of its most popular and has now been expanded with two designs.


Now featuring Stellar and Dedalo, this best-selling collection blends mid-century feel with abstract designs and its new introductions are no exception. Stellar is design that’s inspired by the fl ashes of light and gas mists of interstellar journeys. In Dedalo, Louis de Poortere has looked to the mythological architect of the Labyrinth, in a design inspired by its winding, interconnecting and never-ending passages.


Stellar’s fi ve brilliant colourways capture vivid and vibrant contrasts, with Lightning Turquoise and Nebula Orange the design’s most intense combinations. Dedalo’s palette is no less captivating with Blue Marine, Republic Green and Yellow Scarab all bring a richness through the pronounced lustre of their high-pile maze-like patterns, achieved through a 100% polyester yarn.


Just like the rest of the Mad Men collection, Stellar blends cotton and polyester and both designs are available in six of Louis de Poortere’s standard sizes. Dedalo is also available in the new 240cm round shape. The Jacquard fl atweave qualities are made in Belgium for Louis de Poortere’s unmistakable quality.

Industry body unveils “Plan for Growth” to Government

The British Furniture Confederation (BFC), the public affairs umbrella body of furniture and beds, furnishings and flooring sector trade associations, has unveiled its new Plan for Growth. The document is said to support BFC’s advocacy across four key pillars: skills and education; trade and exports; standards and regulations; and the environment and circular economy. It has been developed over the past few months, the organisation says, evolving from a combination of position papers written by the associations’ executives and a comprehensive survey of their collective members.

Furniture spend up 2.4% with Barclaycard
