January Furniture Show postponed
The NEC's January Furniture Show has become the latest furnishing event to fall foul of Covid. The organisers have cancelled to January 23 opening, and hope to re-schedule the event to April.
The Show is a key event for retail buyers in the furnishing sector and was still being promoted as recently as last Friday but now the organisers have bowed to the inevitable.
"We are committed to bringing you January Furniture Show in an environment where everyone feels safe to do business and with this in mind we feel it’s the right decision to postpone to a later date. We will always work in the best interests of our customers - both exhibitors and visitors – and we believe a safe and successful event can be run in April 2022," says Russell Rule of Clarion Events.
The postponement follows the decisions by several major European events including Domotex, Heimtextil and IMM Cologne, to abandon their plans to open in January.
Clarion Events still expects to open its sister event, the Manchester Furniture Show, on July 17-20 – but it will be held in Harrogate, not Manchester!
